Can I sell my position before the deal exits?

Yes. Via ROFR or direct approval rights. Companies can refuse transfers for any reason (or no reason). This is standard in private markets, not a Wealt restriction.

Can the company that I register my interest in block my transfer?

Most deals lock up your money for 3–10 years on average. You can't withdraw early like you can from a savings account. Secondary markets exist, but liquidity is limited.

How long is my capital locked up?

No. Private investments are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit protection schemes (FSCS, FDIC). Your capital is at risk, and you could lose your entire investment.

Is my money protected like it is in a bank?

Private investments may generate taxable events when you receive distributions (capital gains tax) and annually via K-1 tax forms from the SPV. Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction.

What are the tax implications of private investments?

You'll receive quarterly updates (when available from the company), annual K-1 tax forms, and notifications about material events like new funding rounds, exits, or status changes.

What disclosure and financial information will I receive from portfolio companies?
